Raster images are made of pixels. A pixel is a single point or the smallest single component in a display device. Let's think of them as little tiny squares* or dots of color or shade.
Vector images are based on mathematical calculations from one point to another that ultimately form geometrical shapes.
I've magnified the raster and vector images above and we can easily see the differences between the two but sometimes you cannot see the difference at a glance on a normal view.
When a raster image is scaled up, it usually loses quality.
We'll accept raster based images, but they cannot be too small, if they are, the quality will be obviously lacking in the final product.
Confused, give us a call or email us the image your thinking about using and we'll let you know if we think it will work or not! (800) 323-8037 Send all artwork toartwork@sweetimpressions.com.
